Percorso religioso-naturalistico-storico
E’ iniziata la pubblicità del Cammino di San Domenico che si svolgerà dal 30 aprile al 6 maggio 2018, partendo da Villalago per arrivare a Pretoro e poi con accoglienza finale a Villamagna.
Il Cammino di San Domenico è un percorso ambientalistico-religioso molto importante perché unisce i luoghi della Storia di San Domenico (Villalago- grotta di Prato Cardoso) a quelli della devozione partecipando anche ai riti che si svolgono a Cocullo(festa dei serpari) e Pretoro- Villamagna con la rappresentazione del miracolo del lupo.
Il cammino da Fornelli a Villalago è un percorso che certamente contiene aspetti naturalistici molto importanti, panorami bellissimi e non dimentichiamo il passaggio nelle vicinanze di tre laghi, quello di Barrea, lago di Scanno ed infine il lago di San Domenico, ma esso ha soprattutto una valenza religiosa e spirituale unica, poiché i pellegrini di Fornelli in quella occasione rivivono le emozioni del miracolo di San Domenico quando salvò un ragazzo del loro paese morso da un cane randagio.
Durante questo percorso i pellegrini seguono anche dei riti sempre uguali e importanti : si fermano all’entrata di Villalago in un punto particolare da dove si vede l’Eremo e dove, come ci viene raccontato, il bambino morente si risvegliò; poi entrano in ginocchio, cantando e pregando, nella chiesa di San Domenico e infine l’incontro delle due confraternite (Fornelli e Villalago) con il bacio delle croci in segno di fratellanza, solidarietà e di un unico amore verso San Domenico.
Queste particolarità rendono il pellegrinaggio degli abitanti di Fornelli forse unico rispetto ad altri percorsi religiosi che sono stati organizzati in questi ultimi anni.
Per raggiungere tutti gli obiettivi che i Comuni si sono prefissati con questo Cammino durante la presentazione a Villalago il 21 Gennaio 2018, deve essere fatta una pubblicità completa di tutti gli aspetti, religiosi-naturalistici-turistici-gastronomici, insieme ad una pubblicità dei riti e delle manifestazioni visitate durante il percorso.
Naturalmente non bisogna mai dimenticare che al primo posto di questo impegno ci deve essere la figura di San Domenico,grande santo, fondatore di monasteri e precursore della Riforma della Chiesa e soprattutto il santo che unisce nella venerazione e nella preghiera tutti i paesi coinvolti in questo progetto.

THE PATH OF SAINT DOMINIC
Religious-naturalistic-historical route
The publicity of the Path of St. Dominic has begun, which will take place from April 30th to May 6th, 2018, starting from Villalago to arrive in Pretoro and then with a final welcome in Villamagna.
The Path of St. Dominic is a very important environmental-religious path because it combines the places of the history of St. Dominic (Villalago — cave of Prato Cardoso) with those of devotion, also participating in the rituals that take place in Cocullo (Feast of the Snakes) and Pretoro — Villamagna with the representation of the miracle of the wolf.
This journey is the continuation of the pilgrimage from Fornelli to Villalago and from Villalago to the ruins of the Monastery to arrive at the visit to the Hermitage begun in 2014.
The journey from Fornelli to Villalago is a route that certainly contains very important naturalistic aspects, beautiful landscapes and we do not forget the passage in the vicinity of three lakes, that of Barrea, Lake Scanno and finally the lake of St. Dominic, but it has above all a unique religious and spiritual value, as Fornelli’s pilgrims on that occasion relive the emotions of the miracle of St. Dominic when he saved a boy from their village bitten by a stray dog.

During this journey the pilgrims also always follow the same important rituals: they stop at the entrance of Villalago in a particular point where you can see the Hermitage and where, as we are told, the dying child woke up; then they come on their knees, singing and praying, in the Church of San Domenico and finally the meeting of the two confraternities (Fornelli and Villalago) with the kiss of the crosses as a sign of brotherhood, solidarity and a single love for St. Dominic.
These particularities make the pilgrimage of the inhabitants of Fornelli perhaps unique compared to other religious walks that have been organized in recent years.
To achieve all the objectives that the municipalities have set for themselves with this walk, during the presentation in Villalago on January 21, 2018, a complete advertisement must be made of all aspects, religious-naturalistic-tourist-gastronomical, along with an advertisement of the rites and of the events visited during the journey.
Of course we must never forget that in the first place of this commitment there must be the figure of St. Dominic, great saint, founder of monasteries and precursor of the Reformation of the Church and above all the saint who unites in veneration and prayer all the towns involved in this project.
